Release of grades

HEC Montréal students

  • Courses taken at HEC Montréal: Grades are generally posted on HEC en ligne 15 working days after the final exam. If your grade in a course is not posted after this time, please contact the academic department that offers the course.
  • Courses taken at another academic institution: You will be able to consult your grades on the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (BCI) website when you log in as a student.

Students from another academic institution taking a course at HEC Montréal

Your grades will first be posted on the student portal at your home academic institution. When you have received the notice of authorization for studies at another academic institution, they will also be posted on HEC en ligne.

It may take several weeks for your grades to be forwarded from your home academic institution.

CHANGE OF grading SCALE

For one of your Fall term 2020 courses only, or two of your MBA or preparatory year courses worth a total of 3 credits, you can ask to change the letter grade scale to the ES for exigence satisfaite (“requirements met”) or E for échec (“fail”) option. Please take note of the following:

  • You have until January 22, 2021, or at the latest 5 days after all your grades for Fall term 2020 have been posted, to complete the form and submit it through HEC en ligne.
  • A course that has been changed to an ES or E grade will not have a numerical value on your transcripts and will not affect your GPA. This means that a failing grade (E) in a course might not affect your GPA.
  • This change cannot be applied to a course in which you have been penalized for a breach of the Regulation regarding the intellectual integrity of students.
  • You will receive the credits for the successful course that has been changed to an ES grade.
  • The group average will appear on your transcripts and be calculated before any grades have been switched to ES or E.
  • Your request will be processed after January 22, 2021.
  • A program direction, after consultation with the executive of the student association concerned, may decide to opt out of this accommodation.

This accommodation will also apply for the Winter term 2021.
