SFU Net Impact Sustainability Challenge

April 3, 2025

A team from the HEC Montréal MBA program put in a brilliant performance by finishing 3rd in the finals of the SFU Net Impact Sustainability Challenge case competition in Vancouver, on March 29 this year.

The group, named EquiNova, consisted of Marianne Dagenais-Lespérance, Adnane En-Najm, Claire Maryniak and Camila Silveira. The team’s coach, Laetititia Dandavino-Tardif was on her 2nd podium this year as coach.

The School’s MBA teams have been racking up successes since the beginning of 2025 and this is their fourth podium this year.

Sustainability takes centre stage

The Net Impact Sustainability Challenge is organized by the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, in British Columbia. This year marked the 12th edition of the international case competition that focuses on sustainability issues.

Participating teams had to solve a case presented by event partner Coast Capital, a Canadian financial services cooperative.

The company asked the teams to help increase revenue for its members, staff and communities, while focusing on accessibility, equity and sustainability.
