Conductors: The Art of Leadership
HEC Montréal rewarded its faculty for their excellence at this year’s research and teaching awards ceremony, on November 24.
Twelve awards were presented this year, including the 2021 Pierre Laurin Award for Research Excellence, which went to Georges Zaccour, and the 2021 Jean Guertin Award for Teaching Excellence, presented to Claude Laurin.

The ceremony was preceded by a tribute to the honorary professors named in 2021. The title was granted this year to Omar Aktouf, Alain d’Astous, Normand Turgeon, Wendy Reid and Michel Vézina.
The winners of the research and teaching excellence awards for 2020 also received their awards in a more official ceremony, since last year’s ceremony had been cancelled because of the pandemic situation.

BEST BUSINESS CASE AWARD
For the exceptional quality of a case published in the International Journal of Case Studies in Management.
The winners:
For their case titled Le vol 92 de la British Midland (A et B)
Recognizing the quality of a textbook written in French by one or more professors, researchers, full-time faculty lecturers or full-time lecturers, and published during the year.

For Parcours pédagogiques d’enseignantes et d’enseignants à l’université
For a book written in a language other than French or one not specifically intended for use in a course, published during the year, by one or more professors, researchers, full-time faculty lecturers or full-time lecturers.

For the best teaching innovation designed and implemented during the year by one or more professors, researchers, full-time faculty lecturers or full-time lecturers.
The award winners are recognized by their peers and students as excellent teachers, for constantly striving to improve their teaching performance, create an environment conducive to students’ intellectual development and instill in them the desire to excel and work hard.
