The AIS Fellow Award is one of the most prestigious honours in the field of information technology (IT). Established in 1999, this recognition remains rare. So far, there has only been one other recipient from HEC Montréal, Professor Suzanne Rivard, in 2015.
Guy Paré is a renowned digital health expert who has dedicated over 25 years of research to studying the adoption, use and impact of IT in healthcare organizations. He was the first researcher to define the success factors for introducing home telecare. His expertise is highly valued by numerous influential international organizations, including the World Health Organization.
He has a PhD in Business Administration from Florida International University and an MSc in Administration from HEC Montréal and has held the Research Chair in Digital Health since 2004 in addition to having been director of the PhD in Administration program from 2019 to 2024.
Guy Paré has published over 150 articles in scientific journals and has been invited to present his work at numerous international conferences throughout his career. He is renowned for the rigour and relevance of his work and is also deeply involved in training the next generation, having supervised many members of the student community who are now active in academic, public and private sectors.
His achievements have been lauded on numerous occasions: he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012 and is ranked 5th in the world for influence in the field of medical informatics, according to a ranking by Stanford University.
In addition to being named an AIS Fellow, Guy Paré has received multiple awards during his career, including the Pierre Laurin Award for Research Excellence in 2020 and the Esdras Minville Award in 2019, as well as several honours for his most notable publications.
