Philippe d’Astous honored by the American Risk and Insurance Association

Philippe d’Astous, a professor in HEC Montreal’s Department of Finance has received the 2026 Early Career Scholarly Achievement Award from the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA), one of North America’s leading scholarly associations devoted to insurance and risk management.

A prestigious distinction in insurance and risk management
This award was created in 2007 to honor researchers who have earned their doctorate within the last ten years and whose work stands out for its significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of insurance and risk management.
Active for over 90 years, the American Risk and Insurance Association is a global benchmark for the academic community, focused on insurance, finance and risk management. Several faculty members from HEC Montréal have participated in its activities over the years.
This recognition is a testament to the influence of the research conducted at HEC Montréal and the contribution of its faculty to the advancement of knowledge at the international level.
Philippe d'Astous is the second HEC Montréal professor to receive this honor, after Martin Boyer, its first recipient in 2007.
