Promoting greater inclusion at work for immigrants

The IDEOS Hub collaborates with the City of Montréal Pac

December 7, 2020

The HEC Montréal IDEOS Hub is taking concrete steps to improve diversity and inclusion in Montréal workplaces. The Hub has joined forces with the Bureau d’intégration des nouveaux arrivants à Montréal (office to support newcomers’ integration in Montréal, or BINAM) as part of the Pacte pour l’inclusion au travail des personnes immigrantes (pact to encourage inclusion at work for immigrants) project

The project, with financial assistance from the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration, is part of the city’s Montréal inclusive strategy. It consists of offering personalized support for Montréal firms, to help them better integrate immigrants into their workforces.

The IDEOS Hub has been mandated to co-ordinate the project and contribute its expertise on management practices for the greatest social impact.

Three HEC Montréal faculty members – Marine Agogué, Sébastien Arcand and Luciano Barin-Cruz – will advise 15 firms recruited by the BINAM to take part in the program. Their role will be to help firms define and formulate commitments to achieve their integration goals

The program will run between January and May 2021. The support will be provided free of charge and will address four aspects of the integration process, i.e.:

The consultations offered by the School’s faculty members will be in the form of co-design workshops. Participants will be invited to identify possibilities for improvement at each step, define their objectives and, lastly, decide how to apply their action plan in their firm.
