Congratulations! You’ve received an offer from us. Follow this guide, step by step. It contains information that will help you, right up to your first week of courses.
You must complete the following two actions before the deadline associated with your admission round.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that there will be a place for you if you wait until after the deadline to respond to this offer.
If you wish to defer your admission, you will need to inform us as soon as possible by email at mba [at] hec.ca (mba[at]hec[dot]ca). Note that your admission will not be deferred automatically, since your application will be studied again and compared with other applications received for the term in question.
You will receive communications from the school at this address. Make sure you can access your inbox! For more information, visit the Email webpage.
You must start immigration procedures to study at HEC Montréal in the following cases:
Don’t waste any time; it can be a long process! Use your admission letter.
As specified in the admission letter, your program includes a consulting field project that counts as a mandatory student work placement. When applying for your study permit, be sure to indicate that you will be completing a mandatory work placement. Once you receive your permit, check to make sure it includes an authorization to work on campus. Visit our website to learn more.
If your admission is conditional, as specified in the admission letter, you must provide official documents of your undergraduate studies. These official documents must contain the words “study program completed,” “degree obtained,” or other words to that effect.
These documents must be submitted before the start of the program.
Check whether you need to provide documents confirming your legal status in Canada. Your legal status will determine the rate that applies to your situation and, therefore, how much you will pay in tuition fees.
Make sure to provide any required documents in HEC en ligne before the deadline shown on the academic calendar.
If you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or Indigenous person, please also verify whether you need to provide documents to confirm that you are a Québec resident in order to qualify for the Quebec tuition rate instead of the canadian tution rate.
You will be enrolled in your mandatory courses by the MBA Office. You will be informed when the time comes to choose your own courses.
Your schedule and your courses will be posted on HEC en ligne no later than two weeks before the term begins.
You are automatically registered to the activities organized by the MBA Office. The schedule will appear in HEC en ligne. Your presence is required at the kickoff events starting the week of August 23, 2027. More information will be sent to you by email before the start of the school year.
Your teachers will specify the required textbooks, if any, at the beginning of each course. You will find all the necessary materials you need at HEC Montréal Coop bookstore and the library.
Before the start of the program, make sure you have:
If you don't have a laptop or a calculator, you can purchase one at the HEC Montréal Coop. Any calculator purchased there can be verified at the time of purchase.
Don't forget to obtain your student card – you will need it, especially to identify yourself during exams.
Monday, August 30 to Friday, September 3, 2027, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
During this intensive week, you will take the compulsory course "Management Simulation". You will attend three hours of classes a day and take part in teamwork sessions that extend into the evening as decisions and consensuses must be reached. Teamwork sessions are not posted on HEC en ligne.
Your presence in class (on-site) is mandatory from the first day. Make sure to avoid any scheduling conflicts. If you are absent, you must withdraw from the program and request that your admission be deferred to another term.
Your invoice will be available on HEC en ligne about two weeks before courses begin. To avoid line-ups and late fees, you can pay your tuition fees online or by telephone through your financial institution. Visit our webpage for more information.
We suggest that you read the Code of Conduct (PDF, 102 Ko) for HEC Montréal students, as it gives guidelines on the appropriate behaviour to ensure a quality learning environment.
You will also find all the important policies and regulations on the Documents officiels page (French only) in the Affaires pédagogiques and Affaires étudiantes sections.
The workload in the MBA program is equivalent to two to three hours of personal work for each hour of class. To help you properly manage your workload, ask about our study support tools.
