Accelerated admission from the Master's to a PhD
A student enrolled in the MSc program at HEC Montréal may be admitted directly into the PhD program without having completed all the requirements of their master’s degree. The admission decision is made by the joint committee, based on the usual admission criteria. To qualify for the fast track entry at HEC Montréal, the student must:
a) have completed at least 9 credits and have achieved an excellent overall GPA at the time of submitting the application;
b) have their admission request supported by an associate or full professor at HEC Montréal who agrees to supervise the student throughout their doctoral studies;
c) have completed at least 21 credits of their master’s coursework and have achieved and excellent overall GPA at the time of transferring to the PhD;
d) pursue the PhD in the same field of specialization as their master’s program, or in a closely related field.
