A BBA team from HEC Montréal excels in Rotterdam

RSM STAR Case Competition

April 29, 2024

The team that represented HEC Montréal at the RSM STAR Case Competition performed brilliantly by finishing 2nd overall, and it was the sole delegation to claim three podiums.

Participating cohorts competed against one another by solving two real-life business cases:

  • The first was a 12-hour case that involved a technology project from TATA Steel and Microsoft.
  • The second was a 24-hour case that dealt with the development of clean energy sources for Greenport West-Holland, an organization composed of entrepreneurs, government representatives, and research and educational institutions working together to ensure a sustainable future for the horticultural cluster in the region.

Our delegation, which won the 3rd place in the first round, and 2nd place in the second round, was made up of Éléonore Chatigny, Félix Pérusse, Philippe Tremblay, and Amélie Vachon from the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. Jean-François St-Pierre, from the University Competitions Service (SCU) accompanied the delegation as a coach.

The RSM STAR Case Competition is held annually in the Netherlands and is organized by the Rotterdam School of Management. This year, it brought together 16 teams from some of the top business schools in the world and took place from April 16 to 24 in Rotterdam.
