Two 1st places in an investment competition
Université Laval’s Fonds Alpha Challenge

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students from HEC Montréal won the two 1st places in the Fonds Alpha Challenge, organized on November 4 by the Université Laval Student Investment Fund:
- Maxime Amyot and Charles Frédette
- Léo Piché and Vincent Ruel
Both sets of winners, who are part of the HEC Montréal Student Investment Fund, impressed the jury of finance professionals, by presenting an investment recommendation for a company listed on the stock exchange. Their proposal focused on the economic environment favoring the purchase of stocks, followed by an analysis of the company, its financial situation, and its valuation.
The 5th edition of this inter-university competition aims to encourage active investment among students, and allows them to put their basic analytical skills into practice. Each team of 2 had 15 minutes maximum to present their investment findings, followed by a 5-minute question period.
