May 30, 2024

A team of researchers from HEC Montréal’s Tech3Lab won the Best Paper Award during the human-computer interaction workshop at the most prestigious conference organized by the Association for Information Systems, which is the leading association in the field of information systems.

The award-winning paper is entitled Impact of Smartphone Multitasking on Walking Behavior: Is Cognitive Absorption the Key?, and is based on research as part of a project conducted by Atul Sharma, PhD student in Information Technology (IT).

Four other members of the user experience laboratory co-authored this paper:

  • Pierre-Majorique Léger
  • Ann-Frances Cameron
  • Sylvain Sénécal
  • Constantinos K. Coursaris

Smartphones and walking behavior
