Conductors: The Art of Leadership
The team at HEC Montréal’s ERPsim Lab were presented the 2023 Curriculum Award by the SAP University Alliances Academic Board for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), for a new business simulation focused on sustainability management.
This game was designed by Professors Pierre-Majorique Léger, Gilbert Babin and Jacques Robert, in collaboration with several research professionals, and under the supervision of Felix G. Lafontaine, Director – Research and Innovation at the laboratory. Participants can make both operational and financial decisions while considering sustainability management issues. The success of this simulation depends on the teams' ability to forecast demand accurately, plan supply efficiently, oversee production and execute product transfers and sales at the best price, all while minimizing the organization’s carbon footprint, so as to run a sustainable business.
“This international distinction demonstrates our commitment to sustainability education through the design of resources and tools intended to support faculty members and make it easier for them to introduce this theme into their courses, while inspiring students to acknowledge the importance of sustainable management.”
For almost 2 decades, this lab has been developing innovative teaching solutions by transforming business software into dynamic learning platforms. ERPsim, its flagship simulation, enables more than 50,000 students per year in over 300 universities around the world to manage an organization in a competitive market using SAP management software.
