May 22, 2015
The very first Gala 109 was held on May 21, organized by the Association des professionnels de la communication et du marketing (APCM), in co-operation with Infopresse, and drew about 200 guests. It certainly proved that there is a future for communication and marketing in Montreal, and especially at HEC Montréal! Two teams of HEC Montréal BBA students won first place in the Défi Marketing and third in the Relève publicitaire competitions.
Coached by Guest Professor René Gendreau, the écHEC & Mat team from HEC Montréal, made up of Josyanne Gamache, Julia Marquette, Mélanie Qin, Benoit Raymond and Valentin Roux-Dufort, took top spot in the Défi Marketing competition, thanks to their clear understanding of the issues and their many creative proposals. Contestants in this challenge, held annually by the APCM since 2000, had to develop a strategy for the Fondation Desjardins that would make the 45,000 Mouvement Desjardins employees ambassadors for their Foundation.
Coralie Bourgeat, Mateo de la Vega, Maude Desormiers, Philippe Goudreault, Charlotte Leclerc and Suzy Truong, coached by Associate Professor Jean-Sébastien Marcoux, brought home third place in the Relève publicitaire competition. Their PiéPié team had to develop a brand activation plan for Gaz Métro, positioning the company as an organization seeking to speed up the move toward sustainable energy solutions.
Congratulations to everyone!
