Financial Assistance for Presentations at Scientific Conferences

Based on funds availability, the Research Knowledge and Transfer Office offers a maximum of $3,000 a year to research faculty members for presenting an accepted paper at one or more scientific conferences, if the professor has no other research funding for this type of activity.

One of the main objectives of this grant is to facilitate publication in scientific journals. Therefore, the Research Knowledge and Transfer Office expects the paper presented during conferences to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal.

The Research and Knowledge Transfer Office awards funds only to one HEC Montréal professor per presentation, as either an author or a coauthor, and the funds cannot be deferred to another year.

Maximum Amount	$3,000 per year
Funded Activity	Scientific presentation during a conference.
Deadline	Applications can be submitted at any time.
Eligible Expenses	This funding is to cover the costs of registration, transportation, and accommodations for one professor.
Eligibility Criteria	Be a HEC Montréal research faculty member. Not hold special research funds (FSR) the balance of which is equal or superior to the requested amount, except for the first three years following the hiring of a new research faculty member. Not have external grants that can cover the cost of presentations at scientific conferences, except for the first three years following the hiring of a new research faculty member. Not hold a professorship accompanied by a research grant. Not be a chairholder. Having received confirmation that the paper has been accepted for presentation at the conference.
Evaluation Criteria	Outcomes of previous Financial Assistance for Presentations at Scientific Conferences, if applicable.
Application	Must include the abstract or complete text of the presentation, and a copy of the letter or email accepting the paper for presentation (attached with the form). Must be submitted using this form and sent to the following address: demande.recherche@hec.ca BEFORE the conference. Please allow at least 10 business days to process the application.
