You will need to send us some documents a few days after submitting your admission application. Start gathering them now.
Documents related to your education
You do not have to provide documents for studies completed at HEC Montréal.
A copy of your official transcripts
Canada: The transcripts must include all grades up to the most recent, including of unfinished programs and courses taken as part of academic exchanges.
International: The transcripts from all years of graduate studies, scanned in vertical layout (portrait) and placed in a single PDF document in chronological order.
A copy of your university diplomas.
Proof of compliance with language requirements
A copy of your transcripts to prove that you meet one of our criteria, unless you completed college (CEGEP) in Quebec.
A result from an English or French test or program that corresponds to an advanced level and was obtained within the past two years. Official scores on tests taken outside HEC Montréal must be sent directly by the issuing organization.
Letters of recommendation
At least three letters of recommendation, preferably from professors or, if that is not possible, from persons in your work environment.
Allow sufficient time for those providing a recommendation to complete and submit your recommendation.
Cover letter
A document including answers to the questions below. Suggested format: Arial 12, 1.5 spacing.

In what field are you planning to specialize?
What is your intended research project? Describe it briefly (max. 2 pages).
An email regarding the documents to be submitted will be sent within three business days of the application being submitted. This may take longer due to statutory holidays.
In the email, you will find your HEC Montréal student ID number. This student ID number will allow you to access your HEC en ligne account.
You will then have five business days to submit the required documents in PDF format (PDF, 200 KB) through HEC en ligne > Documents > Documents Upload.
Only complete applications will be reviewed.
Certain original documents may be requested when you arrive.
You will receive an email no later that 16 weeks after the admission deadline. This message will notify you that a letter has been submitted in your HEC en ligne account.

Your legal status in Canada determines the tuition fees you will have to pay. Check if you need to provide any documents to confirm your status.
