Conductors: The Art of Leadership
Professor Pierre-Olivier Pineau, holder of the Chair in Energy Sector Management, is one of the 100 most influential Quebeckers in 2024, according to L’Actualité magazine.
This list, which was revealed on April 3, 2024, is based on 3 criteria:
As mentioned on the magazine’s website, “the purpose of this subjective exercise is to acknowledge those who are shaping the Quebec of today and preparing for the future, and for what purpose.”

“First and foremost, I am very honored to be on this list. Since my work is focused on energy policy, my primary aim is to improve upon it. Therefore, it is very satisfying to note that people are paying attention to this. However, to my disappointment, energy and climate assessments reveal progress that is not commensurate with Quebec's ambitions. This clearly indicates that there is still a lot of work to be done to achieve our goals. If my influence can help with this, I would be really happy.”
We must also highlight the presence of Ghislain Picard, Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador, who appears on this list for his commitment to defending the interests of the First Nations and for his vital contribution to the creation of HEC Montréal’s First Nations Executive Education.
HEC Montréal would also like to congratulate all the other alumni who appear in the ranking.
