During the 49th Academy of International Business (AIB) UK & Ireland Chapter Conference that took place at the University of Glasgow from April 13 to 15, 2023, a paper co-authored by Ari Van Assche, Professor, Department of International Business received the CPoIB Prize for the Best Societally Engaged IB Paper.

This honour, which was conferred by the journal Critical Perspectives on International Business (CPoIB), recognizes the societal importance of the study entitled “Global Supply Chain Practices and Inequality,” which he co-authored with his peers Vivek Soundararajan (University of Bath), Hari Bapuji (University of Melbourne), and Gokhan Ertug (University of Adelaide). Their award-winning publication provides a complex analysis of how common supply chain practices often exacerbate unequal opportunities among some of the world’s poorest countries.
