Two AFFQ Relève awards go to HEC Montréal BBA students

Frédérique Leblanc et Jeanne BugnonThis year, two of the three Relève awards from the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AFFQ) went to HEC Montréal BBA students: Frédérique Leblanc won the 2017 Relève Desjardins award, while Jeanne Bugnon took the 2017 Relève RBC award.

These awards honour outstanding women university finance students. In addition to a scholarship, each of the winners will be offered a paid three-month internship with a financial institution: for Jeanne Bugnon, with the Royal Bank of Canada, and for Frédérique Leblanc, with Mouvement Desjardins. The winners can choose the sector in which they will do their internship, to match their fields of interest.

Jeanne Bugnon is interested mainly in financial and investment portfolio management, developing financial strategies for small and medium-sized businesses, evaluating businesses, and risk management and coverage. During her undergraduate studies, she went on an exchange to the Zagreb School of Economics (Croatia).Her excellent academic performance earned her a merit scholarship and an international mobility scholarship.

During her undergraduate studies, Frédérique Leblanc specialized in accounting with a strong interest in financial accounting, in particular in the banking sector. She went on an international exchange to the New South Wales University (Australia), and received several scholarships from financial and accounting organizations (Fondation des CPA du Québec, KPMG and Deloitte).

The AFFQ encourages the professional advancement of women in the financial community and their strategic role in economic development in Quebec and throughout the world. These awards will be presented at the 12th Gala des Talentueuses of the Association of Québec Women in Finance on April 27.
