QS rankings 2027: UdeM and its affiliated schools gain ground globally

The Université de Montréal and its affiliated schools, HEC Montréal and Polytechnique Montréal, have moved up to 162nd place globally, while maintaining their 7th place ranking in Canada in the QS World University Rankings, which evaluates the overall quality of universities from around the world. 

Several criteria are taken into account to assess academic performance:  

  • Research – 50% (30% related to Academic Reputation, based on a survey of academics from around the world; 20% based on Citations per Faculty from SCOPUS)  
  • Employability – 20% (15% related to Employer Reputation; 5% related to Employment Outcomes and the number of graduates in high-impact jobs)  
  • Learning Experience – 10% (Faculty Student Ratio)   
  • Global Engagement – 15% (5% reflecting the International Faculty Ratio; 5%, the International Research Network; 5%, the International Student Ratio)  
  • Sustainability – 5% (related to the university’s environmental impact)  

For the 2027 edition, the British organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranked 1,504 universities.
