HEC Montréal MBA among the best in the world for career advancement, according to LinkedIn

The HEC Montréal MBA is featured in the 2026 ranking of Top MBA Programs, a list published by LinkedIn, which highlights the 100 best MBA programs worldwide. This year, HEC Montréal is ranked 90th globally and 5th in Canada.

This ranking, based exclusively on LinkedIn data, analyzes the career paths of hundreds of thousands of MBA graduates around the world. It specifically evaluates their access to leadership positions, the strength of their professional network, their leadership potential and the diversity of recent cohorts

To be eligible for this ranking, programs must meet specific criteria:

• They must be accredited by AACSB or EQUIS;
• They must be full-time MBA programs;
• They must have at least 1,500 alumni, with at least 400 from the 2020 to 2025 cohorts.

Methodology

The ranking is based on several criteria grouped under five pillars:

1. Employability: ability of graduates to obtain employment and interest generated among recruiters.
2. Ability to advance: professional progression, promotions earned and speed of access to leadership positions.
3. Network strength: scope and robustness of professional networks developed by graduates.
4. Leadership potential: post-MBA experience in senior management or entrepreneurship positions. 
5. Gender diversity: gender parity within recent graduate cohorts.

The professional outcomes of graduates from recent cohorts (2020 to 2025) occupy a prominent place in the evaluation. LinkedIn attaches particular importance to hiring rates, promotions, access to leadership positions, professional network strength as well as entrepreneurial or senior management experiences.
