May 12, 2016

HEC Montréal is pleased to announce that the 2016 Applied Arts award, Corporate Photography category, went to photographer Martin Girard for his shots of Gilbert Rozon that appeared in the Spring 2016 issue of Gestion.

The annual Applied Arts Magazine awards are among the most prestigious recognition of creative excellence in over twenty countries.

Award-winning professional photographer Martin Girard, from Shoot Studio, and creative director Eric Soulier are the creative team behind the images of Gilbert Rozon that appeared in the Portrait of a Leader series. “Our aim with the series was to photograph business figures, tell their stories and share their experiences, as a way of sparking readers’ interest,” Girard and Soulier say. “The real challenge was to find the right concept marrying aesthetics and information… and then to pull it off! The keys to our success were the team, the tremendous creative freedom the Gestion journal gave us and the openness and generosity of the people whose photos we were taking.”

For Eric Brunelle, Associate Professor with the Department of Management at HEC Montréal and Gestion Editor: “This award salutes the importance of quality in all aspects of the journal and in showcasing its content with modern graphics adapted to our readers in the business world.”
