Responsible Consumption: Élodie Palluet (MSc) Wins Best Paper Award

June 2, 2011

Élodie PalluetMSc student Élodie Palluet (Marketing specialization) won the Best Paper Award at the 1st day of reflection on responsible consumption, for her paper analyzing different views of green energy by consumers and producers (En pleine zone grise : une analyse des écarts de représentation de l’énergie verte entre consommateurs et producteurs).

Élodie is currently exploring this theme as part of her Master’s thesis, directed by professors Jonathan Deschênes (Marketing) and Pierre-Olivier Pineau (Professorship in Energy). To date the literature contains no studies of this grey zone between the perceptions of consumers and producers. Élodie is specifically exploring the gap between consumers’ views of green products and producers’ claims of environmentally friendly qualities for these products, in the context of the green energy market.

The 1st day of reflection on responsible consumption was part of this year’s Acfas convention, in May. It was organized by the Observatoire de la consommation durable and the Chaire Desjardins en gestion du développement durable at the Université de Sherbrooke.
