Emmanuel Wongibe is a journalist with a career of more than 3 decades thanks to successive assignments in Cameroon as correspondent for the Cameroon Radio Television, the Voice of America (USA), CNN (USA) and Radio Deutsche Welle (Germany), where he eventually worked as a Senior Editor at the Africa Desk of the English Service for 5 years.
He is a renowned media trainer and consultant for many international organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction Office (UNDRR), the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (Germany) and the International Centre for Journalists –ICFJ, (USA) among others. He has trained and mentored journalists across 35 African countries on climate change, migration, disaster Risk Reduction, COVID-19, election, economic and development reporting as well as TV documentary production.
Holder of a Master’s degree in Journalism Studies from the University of Wales College of Cardiff (UK), Emmanuel Wongibe is a recipient of many international awards for his scholarly and journalistic work. Bilingual (English and French) he has travelled widely, and his world view has been shaped and influenced by it.
