Office of Communications and Government and International Relations

The Office of Communications and Government Relations proposes and implements strategies and initiatives that maintain HEC Montréal’s positioning with various internal and external communities.

Mandates of the Office

The School has entrusted the Office with a number of mandates, which it carries out in Quebec and the rest of Canada, as well as internationally, as the case may be:

  • Helps provide a clear understanding of the issues HEC Montréal faces
  • Highlights the School’s mission, projects, expertise, and achievements through its own communication platforms and other media outlets
  • Maintains its brand image
  • Promotes its academic programs
  • Produces and promotes content it publishes on the School’s channels (e.g., the internet, social media, internal digital signage network)
  • Liaises with government bodies, other universities, and various institutional circles to support the fulfillment of its mission
  • Offers support for non-partisan event planning

Responsibilities of professional services and teams

Graphic Communications and Branding

Graphic Communications and Branding oversees the development, promotion, and consistency of the brand image of HEC Montréal and its ecosystem. It supports the strategic, creative, and visual deployment of projects for the School and its various entities. This largely involves the creation and production of visual communication tools, both printed and digital.

 

Institutional Communications

Institutional Communications contributes to HEC Montréal’s brand image by developing and implementing communication strategies tailored to various audiences. It is responsible for producing content for internal and external communities, coordinating press relations, safeguarding the School’s reputation, and acting as a consultant to the various entities within the institution.

 

Digital Communications

Digital Communications offers services like web consulting. It develops and rolls out web content strategies on hec.ca, affiliated websites, and the School’s social networks. This team of experts in writing, accessibility, design, and web integration creates an optimal and engaging user-centered web experience while keeping a close watch on the digital environment.

 

Advertising and Promotion

The team creates, develops, and rolls out strategies promoting academic programs to draw top applicants from Quebec and elsewhere in the world. It provides a comprehensive overview and integrates all communication aspects of the 360˚ ecosystem: conceptual development, media planning and purchasing, promotional content creation and production, and events and recruitment management.

 

Government and International Relations

HEC Montréal builds strong relationships with government and institutional stakeholders in Canada and abroad by keeping them informed and involved in its activities. The team contributes to advancing the School’s institutional priorities in teaching, research, and community service.

The International Office is based in Paris and covers Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. It is charged with informing a broad audience about academic programs, possibilities for study, and partnership opportunities. It represents HEC Montréal in these regions and raises the School’s profile with political, diplomatic, and institutional figures.
