Support for disabled students

Appointments and accommodations

You can seek out personalized support and services during the course of your studies.

Do it fast. The implementation of some accomodations calls for extra planning and organization.

Your file shall be treated confidentially.

 

Make an appointment, 2 options are offered :


1. To evaluate your needs


2. To make a quick appointment (30 minutes)

Please note that for this type of appointment, the only accommodations offered are :

  • Extra time (25%) for timed exams.
  • Separate room (maximum 8 people).

Before making an appointment, make sure your situation meets the following criteria:

  • Have already been accommodated at CEGEP or university.
  • Know your detailed accommodation needs.

Attach the following documents:

  • Intervention plan (CEGEP or university).
  • Medical certificate stating diagnosis.

Documents required for the first appointment

You must submit the official document certifying your disability. This document should contain the diagnosis.

Accessibility around the campus

The HEC Montréal buildings are entirely accessible to students with impaired mobility: classrooms, libraries and bathrooms equipped for wheel-chair users, access ramps, button-activated doors, etc.

Go to the Côte-Sainte-Catherine building and Decelles building pages. These pages contain information about the location of these buildings as well as their access and floor plans.

Building accessibility

Côte-Sainte-Catherine building

  • Entrance on Louis-Colin (corner Willowdale).
  • Access to this building is also possible from the underground parking.

Decelles building

  • Entrance on Decelles (corner Jean-Brillant).

Transportation for mobility impaired students

HEC Montréal students

You have access to a specialized transit service to shuttle you between the School's two buildings.

To avail of these accommodations, contact us by email or by phoning 514 340-6166.

Students from Université de Montréal

You can make use of UdeM’s specialized transit service to take courses on the HEC Montréal campus.

Parking

  • Parking spots reserved for mobility impaired persons are available in both the buildings of HEC Montréal.
  • To park in these spaces, you must obtain a disabled parking permit from the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ).
  • You can avail of an annual parking permit at 75% of the total cost by contacting Coop HEC Montréal (514 340-5683).

Location of reserved parking spaces

Côte-Sainte-Catherine building

  • Disabled parking spots are reserved on every floor of underground parking.
  • You can access the building by taking the elevator located next to the reserved parking spots.

Decelles building

  • Parking spots are reserved in the lot behind the Decelles building.
  • You can access the building through the entrance on Decelles (corner Jean-Brillant).

Housing

Eight specialized studio apartments are available at Université de Montréal's residences for students who use wheelchairs.

You can apply for one by filling in the online form.
