Step 3 – Submit your supporting documents

supporting documents to submit for admission

You will receive an e-mail with your HEC Montréal student number within three days, allowing you to access your HEC en ligne account. This may take longer in some cases, depending on statutory holidays.

You have five working days after receiving this e-mail to submit your supporting documents, in unprotected PDF format, via HEC en ligne > Documents > Documents Upload. If you are experiencing difficulties, consult the Zone Info online.

Status of your supporting documents

To find out the status of the documents you have submitted, check your HEC en ligne account.

Status Description
Received Document submitted.
Treated Document accepted.
Non-compliant Document to be submitted again, because it is:
  • unprintable or illegible (incomprehensible or impossible to read all information);
  • not accepted as proof (e.g. a baptismal certificate is not accepted as proof of status in Canada);
  • or two-sided printing is missing (e.g. Canadian citizenship certificate or card, permanent residency card).
You will be contacted only if documents are missing to complete the analysis of your student file.

Translation of documents

For any document in a language other than French or English, we require an official translation certified by:

  • the consulate or embassy of the country of origin;
  • a member of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ);
  • a certified translator.
If you do not submit proof of your status in Canada, you will have to pay the differential fees applicable to international students.
