Dual degree agreement between HEC Montréal and Lancaster University

February 22, 2021

Students from HEC Montréal and the Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) will soon be able to earn dual degrees when they complete part of their studies in the other city.

The agreement recently signed between the 2 schools will allow Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) students at HEC Montréal to replace the 3rd year of their degree with 2 full years in Lancaster. They will then receive a MSc degree from the prestigious British business school, in addition to their BBA degree.

During their first year at Lancaster University (3rd year of the complete dual program), they will have to choose one of the 7 specializations in the LUMS Bachelor’s program and, in their final year, one of the 16 specializations offered in the Master’s program. They are:

Similarly, LUMS students, who will do 2 years in Lancaster followed by 2 years at HEC Montréal, will finish with a Bachelor’s degree from the British university and a BBA with a double specialization in Finance and International Business. They will also have been immersed in French during their studies in Montréal.

Every year, 5 students from each institution may enrol in this program. Participants will be selected on the basis of their university marks, their motivation and their language skills.

Benefits

This international agreement will allow students to obtain 2 degrees from 2 institutions of higher education with AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditations, in just 4 years.

The degrees will also be an excellent springboard for students seeking international careers.

The Lancaster University Management School is a long-standing partner of HEC Montréal. Since 2002, over 60 of our students have studied there through the School’s international exchange program.

There will be an online information session for our students on February 24 at 1 p.m.
