2015 Jeux du Commerce: HEC Montréal medals once again

January 5, 2015

The HEC delegation of 84 BBA students took second place overall at the 27th Jeux du commerce, held at the Université de Sherbrooke on January 2 to 5.

Under the guidance of the HEC Montréal Competitions Committee and Guest Professor René Gendreau (Marketing), the School’s team ranked in the top three in several events. In addition to first place in accounting, taxation and ultimate frisbee, and second for participation and in organizational information systems, the HEC Montréal team took third for the social component and in tube water polo.

With this year’s performance, the School has now finished in the top three 22 times in 27 years. Since the first edition of the competition, in 1989, HEC Montréal has claimed first place 11 times, second place 6 times and third place 5 times. The Jeux du Commerce bring together nearly 1,200 BBA students from 13 eastern Canadian universities and pit them against one another in academic, sports and social competitions. The goal is to encourage closer relations among these future business and corporate leaders, create lasting bonds among the participants, develop their initiative and foster healthy competition and, above all, excellence.

Congratulations to all the participants!
