HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal team up to expand the offering on EDUlib

May 4, 2015

Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal are teaming up with HEC Montréal to expand the number of free courses available on the online platform EDUlib.

The three institutions on Université de Montréal’s campus will produce and distribute open courses on health, educational studies, sciences, engineering, management and other subject matters. The general public will thus have access to an extensive selection of free training courses and to the educational know-how that set the character and reputation of those three institutions.

Another major change to EDUlib will be its migration to the international platform of online courses: Open edX. Founded by Harvard University and MIT, this platform offers many benefits: its techno-pedagogical tools are adapted to massive open online courses (MOOC) including the use of videos, massive forums, automated evaluations, and peer evaluations.

EDUlib is part of the services provided to the community by the three educational institutions in the same way as their libraries are open to the general public.

To learn more about the courses available, their objectives, and the profiles of participating professors, please visit EDULib’s new website (in French only). The course catalogue will be continually expanded to meet the training needs of all audiences. The new fall programming will be unveiled in September.
