We review the strategic issues and principal trends in purchasing management looking to identify the best practices in the field based on professional and academic articles, case discussions and guest speakers' presentations.
Many organizations from the private and public sectors have elevated purchasing to a strategic business responsibility. The trend towards outsourcing of non-core activities makes that a very high proportion of value adding now streams from suppliers.
