One of the most important dimensions of the knowledge-based economy is its impact on the internationalization of companies. It requires a better understanding of the mechanisms of international competitiveness and an updated understanding of the international knowledge environment.
These in the context of a knowledge-based economy can be interpreted as not only devices for building common representations, but also as arrangements guaranteeing mutual rights of access to complementary knowledge held by participants.
