French Language Exchange
Benefit from a personalized service that will help you improve your written French, including the organization and presentation of your ideas, vocabulary choice, syntax, agreements, and typographic rules.
IN BRIEF
- Free service offered to the HEC Montréal student community with at least an intermediate level of French.
- If your level is lower, we recommend taking a business French course. Since tutoring focuses mainly on written French, a minimum level is required.
- Four individual sessions spread over four weeks with a tutor specialized in French.
- Tutoring available on-site at the Centre de formation en langues des affaires (CFLA) or remotely via Zoom or Teams.
- Appointments based on your availability: daytime, evenings, weekends.
"Tutoring allowed me to experiment with my own mistakes and strengths, as well as to develop my own writing style. My tutor was always there to understand me, correct me, but above all, challenge me more at every session."
— Maria Lucia Montoya, student in the Certificate in Business Analysis – Information Technology
Are you studying at the master’s or doctoral level? To help you with your thesis or dissertation writing, the CFLA offers you the possibility of sending your tutor a five-page excerpt of your work to review together. Please note: This is not a text correction service.

Fill out the registration form and complete the online test. The test lasts about 1 hour and includes 40 multiple-choice questions and a 300-word writing task.
Why take a test?
Your tutor will have an idea of your difficulties in French from the very first session. The purpose of the test is to assess your real strengths and weaknesses. It is unnecessary to consult a person, AI, a reference book, or the Internet to answer the questions. Do your best using only your own knowledge.
