An HEC Montréal alumnus (1945 and 1946), he was a Professor of Accounting at the School from 1945 to 1965. He also sat on the Commission des études (1949–1956) and was appointed to head the Commercial Operations Section (1950). He left the academic world to become President and CEO of the Alliance Nationale insurance company (1963) and Chair of its Board of Directors (1981).
