Johanne Whitmore Appointed to the Stakeholder Panel of Transition énergétique Québec

Johanne Whitmore, Senior Researcher with the HEC Montréal Chair in Energy Sector Management, will be joining the stakeholder panel of Transition énergétique Québec (TEQ) as a consultant. Pierre Arcand, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Minister responsible for the Plan Nord and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region, announced 15 appointments to the panel on June 6, including Ms. Whitmore.

The mission of the TEQ, established under Quebec’s 2030 energy policy, is to support and co-ordinate efforts to reach the government’s energy transition, innovation and efficiency objectives. The panel will allow experts in these fields to take part in drawing up the government’s five-year plan to help it reach its energy transition targets.

About Johanne Whitmore

Ms. Whitmore holds an MSc in Geography, Environment and Geomatics from the University of Ottawa. She joined the HEC Montréal Chair in Energy Sector Management in 2014. She is a member of the Institut de l’environnement, du développement durable et de l’économie circulaire (EDDEC) and of the Energy Working Group of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ). Her research is currently focusing on the effectiveness of energy and climate policies and on optimal approaches to balancing energy production and consumption.
