Our MBA in the Poets & Quants international top 25, and 1st in Canada

November 19, 2015

HEC Montréal made a spectacular leap, moving up 15 positions this year, and now stands at 20th place in the Poets & Quants ranking of the best non-US MBAs. The School’s MBA is also tops in Canada!

This is the sixth straight year that HEC Montréal has appeared on the list, which includes 69 international schools this year. The list is based on quantitative and qualitative data (surveys of corporate recruiters, graduates and deans, university publications, employment statistics, graduates’ salaries, etc.) and the strengths and flaws of the four of the leading international rankings, published by Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, The Economist and The Financial Times.

Poets & Quants’ goal is to eliminate statistical distortions among these rankings, because they measure different things. For instance, while the Bloomberg Businessweek list is based largely on students’ and recruiters’ satisfaction, the Forbes and Financial Times versions emphasize students’ return on investment, and The Economist’s list evaluates a large number of points, largely centred on students’ main reasons for taking an MBA.
