First Scholarship and Bursary Awards in 2010-2011

Over $1 million awarded to some 600 students

December 6, 2010

The first scholarship and bursary award ceremony of the 2010-2011 school year was held on December 1.

All in all, 44 corporations, organizations, associations, foundations and individuals awarded some 600 scholarships and bursaries totalling $1,178,905 at this first ceremony. These awards are intended to salute and support excellence among students in all programs, to help some students do part of their studies at other institutions through the Passport to the World program, and to meet financial needs.

Admission and in-program scholarships worth $656,337 in all were presented to 274 talented BBA, MSc, MBA and PhD students. Other incentive, leadership and entrepreneurship scholarships, worth $183,318, went to 103 deserving students. The last Mercure track scholarships (this scholarship program has now been abolished), worth $164,000, went to 82 students.

Passport to the World scholarships, in the amount of $43,000, were awarded to 94 BBA students for the fall 2010 term and $73,500 for the winter 2011 term.

Lastly, 57 need-based bursaries were presented, for a total of $58,750.

Congratulations to the recipients and thanks to our generous donors!
