HEC Montréal’s position concerning the U.S. Executive Order

February 6, 2017

HEC Montréal shares the concerns of Universities Canada regarding the Executive Order signed by United States President Donald Trump, preventing individuals from seven Muslim-majority countries (Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen) from entering the United States for a 90-day period.

This order has a real impact on the members of our community, including some PhD students whose knowledge and talents are among our university’s assets. It also raises questions about the feasibility of future Campus Abroad courses, especially in the United States.

HEC Montréal is a community founded on openness, diversity and respect. The School has professors, researchers and students from around the world, all working to reach our common teaching and research goals in the management field.
