QS rankings 2026-2027: 3 Master’s programs among the top 100 in the world

HEC Montréal has performed very well once again in the Business Master’s & MBA categories of the QS World University Rankings 2026-2027 which evaluate the best Master of Science (MSc) programs around the world. 

Here are the highlights:

• The highest-ranked program remains the Master of Science (MSc) – Operations and Supply Chain Management which is 48th in the world and 2nd in Canada.  
• Programs whose performances are improving in the global rankings include MSc – Business Analytics (97th), MSc – International Business (101-110th) and MBA (141-150th). 
• MSc – Marketing [in French only] ranks 99th in the world and 2nd in Canada.
• MSc – Finance has performed consistently, ranking 101-110th in the world and 3rd in Canada.

Methodology    

Each ranking is based on five dimensions, with varying weightings depending on the program:

• Employability (30% to 40%) – reputation of institutions determined through a survey of tens of thousands of employers worldwide from all sectors and industries over the past 5 years; graduate placement rate after 3 months. 
• Return on Investment (20%) – data on post-MBA salaries; salary increase assumption.
• Entrepreneurship (MBA only) and Alumni Outcomes (15% or 20%) – QS database of thousands of highly influential employers, industry leaders and professionals; rate of graduates setting up their own companies 3 months after graduation (MBA only). 
• Thought Leadership (15% or 20%) – survey of 200,000 professors from 60 countries; impact of research in Scopus; percentage of faculty members with a PhD.
• Diversity (10%) – origin and gender of faculty members and the student community.
