Make a difference while still looking after your loved ones

Interested in making a significant donation to the HEC Montréal Foundation through an endowment fund, but concerned about the impact on your estate? Here’s a way you can have an immediate impact while still safeguarding your assets for your heirs.

Use the tax savings resulting from your charitable donation to take out a new insurance policy naming your estate, your family or your loved ones as beneficiaries.

How to proceed

  • Start by making a major donation to the HEC Montréal Foundation.
  • You will be issued a tax receipt, and the corresponding tax credit will reduce the amount of tax you would otherwise pay.
  • You can then use these tax savings to take out a life insurance policy, naming your loved ones as the beneficiaries, with a death benefit equal to or greater than your donation. This amount will go to your heirs upon your death to offset the amount of your gift.

A cost-effective solution

  • You can enjoy seeing the impact of your donation during your lifetime.
  • Your loved ones will receive an amount that is equal to or greater than the gift, ensuring that their interests are looked out for.
  • Your heirs will receive a tax-free life insurance benefit, replacing the amount of the original donation.

We’re here for you every step of the way!
