HEC Montréal’s student delegations are continuing their winning streak by turning in excellent performances in three competitions that took place in early November.
First, on November 9, two teams from the School won awards at the KGP competition in project management, organized by UQAM:
Their coaches from the School were Jean-François Pilon, Faculty Lecturer in Project Management, and Jean-François St-Pierre, Administrative Director, University Competitions Service.
That same day, three Master’s students – Faiz Ansari and Vaibhav Munjal (Finance), and Xiao Xue (Financial Engineering) – won the Best Quantitative award at the McGill International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC). Accompanied by coach Jean-Philippe Tarte, Senior Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Finance, they had to put together innovative portfolio strategies that are inflation resilient, while satisfying the liquidity needs of retirees from various demographic groups.
The following day in Toronto, Charles Martel (M. Sc. – développement organisationnel), Amine Ben Arous, Christian Gendron and Nicolas Rouleau Breton (D.E.S.S. en gestion – management du sport), won the PrimeTime Sports case competition presented by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE). With a mandate to develop an equity, diversity and inclusion program within MLSE, its franchises and teams, these students were coached by the Administrative Director of the HEC Montréal Sports Hub, Samuel Ouellette.
The School’s University Competitions Service would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of these student delegations, as well as the HEC Montréal Alumni Association for its financial support.
