Market Secrets #9 - Manufacturing Mining and Energy

“Market Secrets” is a series of events, each covering different professions, offering informal meetings with mentors who have inspiring careers.

For the October 8th, edition, we are looking for professionals working in the manufacturing, mining, and energy sectors, across a wide range of organizations: large and small companies, agencies, startups, government organizations, and more.

Format: each mentor meets successively with small groups of 1 to 3 students around a table.

Mentors' Mission:

• No formal presentation is required
• Introduce yourself, talk about your background and your profession, your interest in the field, share advice with the student community, and answer their questions

Location:

Hélène-Desmarais building (downtown), conference center Claude-Séguin (A.373, 3rd floor)

Event schedule:

• 4:30 PM : arrival of mentors
• 4:45 PM: arrival of students 
• 5:15 to 5:35 PM: welcome speech
• 5:35 PM to 7:15 PM: student/mentor meetings
• 7:15 PM to 8:00 PM: open networking time between students and mentors over cocktails and appetizers 

Students' Profile:

• Second-cycle students (DESS, M.Sc., MBA, etc.) with a keen interest in the fields presented 
• The event will nonetheless be open to all HEC Montréal students 
• Registration will be required to participate 
• Students will have reviewed the list of mentors beforehand and will thus be able to come prepared with specific issues or questions
