If you are enrolled in the MSc program at HEC Montréal, you may be eligible for direct admission to the PhD program without completing all of your master’s degree requirements. The admission decision is made by the joint committee, based on the usual admission criteria.
To qualify for the fast track entry, you must:
- have completed at least 9 credits and earned an excellent cumulative GPA at the time you submit your application;
- obtain the support of an associate or full professor at HEC Montréal who agrees to supervise your doctoral studies;
- have completed at least 21 credits of master's-level coursework and maintained an excellent cumulative GPA at the time of transfer to the PhD program;
- pursue doctoral studies in the same field of specialization as your master’s program, or in a closely related field.
