Working off campus

If you are a volunteer, the rules listed on this page do not apply. Make sure your activity actually constitutes work.

Requirements for working off campus

To be able to work off campus, it is particularly important that you:

  • hold a valid study permit with off-campus work authorization
  • have started your program of study
  • study full time during the required academic terms
  • have a Social Insurance Number (SSN).

To check all the requirements, visit the IRCC website. If you no longer meet these requirements, you must stop working.

You can work both on campus and off campus, provided you meet the eligibility requirements for each type of job.
