The Société de transport de Montréal offers, under certain conditions, a reduced fare to students who have a photo OPUS card. See if you are eligible for the reduced fare and how you can get a photo OPUS card.
Are you eligible for the student fare?
You are eligible for the reduced student fare in either of the following situations:
- You are enrolled full-time. Refer to the table to find the number of credits required per term for your program.
- You are deemed full-time student as determined by Quebec's Financial Assistance for Education.
Obtain or renew a photo OPUS card
Methods of obtaining
Online
- Cost: $15. Payment by credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
- You have to be a full-time student and have a mailing address in Québec.
- You may select the delivery method when you place your order.
- Before starting this process, obtain a student card.
- Order your OPUS card on HEC en ligne > Services and tools > OPUS Online.
At STM photo studio
- Cost: $15.
- Go to the STM photo studio and present the required documents.
- The photo will be taken at the studio.
- You will receive the card on-site.
Required documents
- Proof of age with photo (Medicare card, driver’s licence, passport, refugee claimant document or permanent resident card).
- Full-time students: Present the full-time student attestation in electronic format, available in HEC en ligne.
- Deemed full-time students: Along with your request, attach a duly completed Reduced-fare student OPUS card application form (PDF, 75.07 KB) with a photo. Have your document certified by emailing it to sae.afe [at] hec.ca (sae[dot]afe[at]hec[dot]ca) before going to the STM photo studio or sending the document by mail.
