Professors Emeritus

The title of Professor Emeritus is awarded to a retired professor who is recognized and admired by their peers for their outstanding contribution to teaching and research or to the development and reputation of HEC Montréal. This honorary title is a high distinction.

Alain d’Astous

Professor Alain d’Astous (PhD in Business Administration from University of Florida) was recruited as a visiting professor for the Marketing department on June 1, 1999.

Jacques Desrosiers

Professor Jacques Desrosiers (PhD in Mathematics, Université de Montréal) was appointed assistant professor in the Department of Decision Sciences on June 1, 1978.

Jacques Roy

Le professeur Jacques Roy (Ph.D. en administration de HEC Montréal en 1985) a été embauché comme professeur titulaire au département de gestion des opérations et de la logique à HEC Montréal le 1er octobre 2001.

Réal Labelle

Réal Labelle holds a PhD in Management from Université Pierre-Mendès-France, in Grenoble, and an MBA from McGill University.

Réal Jacob

Réal Jacob (MA in Industrial Psychology, Université de Montréal; Certificate of Advanced Studies in Labour Sciences, Université catholique de Louvain) was appointed Full Professor at HEC Montréal in 2001.

Ann Langley

Ann Langley (MA in Operational Research, University of Lancaster; PhD in Administration from HEC Montréal) joined the faculty of HEC Montréal in 2000.

Gibert Laporte

Yves-Aubert Côté (1926-2012)

Professor Yves-Aubert Côté (BA of Commerce and BA of Accounting, HEC Montréal) joined the School in 1956. He became a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec in 1952 and was named a Fellow of the organization in 1984.

Mattio O. Diorio (1934-2020)

Professor Mattio O. Diorio (B.Eng. Met., McGill University; Master of Science in Management et Sloan Fellow, Massachusetts Institute of Technology) joined HEC Montréal in 1969, after beginning his career in the private sector, both in Canada and abroad.
