This course presents quantitative tools used in practice to guide managerial decision making, as well as application examples.
Using stylized cases, students will learn to recognize several types of decision problems and identify appropriate techniques for their solutions. By the end of the course, students will have acquired a basic knowledge of decision support models and the techniques that support them, which will enable them to deal with common decision problems using specialized software attached to EXCEL spreadsheets, interpret the results provided by such software, and implement the proposed solutions. A minimum knowledge of EXCEL software is required of students.
