Understand different strategies and techniques used in investment and operating decisions in the energy, mining and resource sectors


This course will allow students to evaluate and compare different investment projects of a company working in the energy, mining and natural resources sectors. Students will develop knowledge and skills to apply financial analysis techniques to establish performance scenarios based on the risks inherent in their industry. In addition to the appropriate capital structure, fixed costs and variable costs, a consideration of the costs of environmental externalities and asset decommissioning will also be considered.
