A real-estate developer and Chair of the Chambre de commerce du district de Montréal (1908–1909), he played a role in the birth of HEC Montréal as the first Chair of its Executive Committee (1907–1919). He also received the first honorary PhD awarded by the School (1920) and is recognized for his contribution to the advancement of business education.
