International activities:
what you can do to ensure your peace of mind

Are you planning to travel abroad as part of your studies or work at HEC Montréal? On this page, you’ll find all the information you need to adequately prepare your stay.

As part of its new Policy on the Safety of International Activities (in French only) HEC Montréal has entered into an agreement with International SOS, a pioneer in international health and security risk management.

International SOS is:

  • More than 12,000 employees worldwide including doctors, nurses, and security experts;
  • A presence in 90 countries, with 64 medical clinics and 27 assistance centres, which are open 24/7;
  • A service available in 99 languages.

Who should declare their stay abroad?

This procedure applies to members of the HEC Montréal community who need to travel outside of Canada as part of their work, studies, or for any activities overseen by the School.

Declare your stay

Before you initiate your plans for travelling outside Canada, HEC Montréal requires you to declare your stay, in order to:

  • Assess the risks your travel entails, and if need be, issue a travel authorization notice, accompanied by advice and relevant restrictions.
  • Ensure your safety by providing you with support from International SOS and the School before your trip and in the event of an emergency abroad.
