The new $5000 grant will be established as of the winter 2024 semester and will be attributed annually to a female student who wishes to pursue a career in finance.

A donation that comes from the heart

"By establishing this endowment in the form of a scholarship in the name of our daughter, we wish to support the next generation of women in finance and aim to make this field, which can seam at first glance quite stern, more appealing and more accessible. We hope to spread a little of the great joy Andréanne had while working in this industry. Our daughter was so proud of her professional life and was always smiling and bright-eyed when she talked about finance."

Among the criteria for this scholarship, a preference will be given by Andréanne's parents to a student who demonstrates an interest in social justice and/or who wishes to raise awareness and democratize the finance industry for people coming from less-privileged socio-economic backgrounds.

"We are immensely grateful for this support and the trust placed in us by Ms. Castonguay and Mr. Deslippe with this incredible donation. It is through such generous gestures that great achievements can be accomplished. This new scholarship fund will contribute to the emergence of a new generation of women in finance, as well as highlighting the perseverance and tenacity of students pursuing their studies in a field where female role models are still under-represented"

Michel Patry, President and CEO of the HEC Montréal Foundation

In addition to the financial support, the recipient of the Women in Finance Scholarship will be also offered mentoring sessions conducted by a CDPQ expert. Through its participation in this new initiative, the global investment group wishes to promote careers in the financial industry among the female student population.

In recognition of this generous gesture, France Castonguay joins the ranks of the Conseil des Gouverneurs, HEC Montréal’s recognition club gathering leaders in the business community and whose generosity is key to helping cement the School’s reputation as one of the world’s top business schools.
